The world isn't short on information — it's short on understanding.

At first glance it's a word you think you know. Anyone with a little Japanese reads kokoro (心) — the heart — and stops there. It's the small e at the end that's easy to miss. Look closer, though: 得 is the getting of a thing, the understanding. Notice the e — focus on it, understand it — and you've gone from recognizing the word to understanding it. Which is the entire point.

Kokoroe (心得) doesn't quite translate — more than knowledge, more than skill; heart and understanding together, the right mindset for a role. You hear it for the kokoroe of a craftsman, of a leader, of good service.

That's why our mark is a heart. Say it gently — ko·ko·ro·eh — and if it slips out ko-ko-ro-eee with a smile, even better.

Knowledge with understanding.

Your knowledge is everywhere — in notes, tasks, messages, documents, and half-remembered decisions. The world has never had more information. What's rare is understanding: knowing not just what you know, but why it matters and how to use it.

Data is plentiful. Understanding is where it starts to mean something.

Understanding takes curation. Kokoroe isn't another place for things to go and be forgotten — not an archive, not a dumping ground. You decide what's worth keeping, what still serves you, and what to let go.

The goal isn't to remember everything. It's to remember what matters.

AI isn't the point — understanding is. We'd rather the interface say “I understand your world” than “I can do everything.” Kokoroe learns from your world, not the internet's, so the AI you already use finally has your context.
